The purpose of Colorado Geological Survey Open File Report 09-03 is to describe the geologic setting, structure, geologic hazards, and mineral and ground-water resources of this 7.5-minute quadrangle located to the southeast of the Denver metro area in east-central Colorado. Staff geologist Matthew L. Morgan completed the field work on this project during the spring and summer of 2008. Some unit descriptions were coordinated between this area and the adjacent Cherry Valley School (Thorson, 2004b), Russellville Gulch (Thorson, 2006), and Ponderosa Park (Thorson, 2007) quadrangles.
